Elevator pitch
As a .NET developer specializing in Blazor, I bring deep knowledge and experience in building Razor pages using C#, HTML, and CSS, along with a solid understanding of JavaScript. My skill set extends to .NET MAUI, where, as part of a team, I helped transform Blazor web apps into native applications for Android, iOS, and Windows.
My expertise also includes back-end technologies like ASP.NET Core and Microsoft SQL Server, providing a strong foundation for full-stack development. Additionally, I hold the Azure Developer certification and have hands-on experience deploying Blazor applications to Azure, utilizing services such as App Service, Application Insights, Azure Blob Storage, Managed Identity, and more.
Background
I entered the IT industry by following a vocational education focused on Windows system administration. I then pursued a bachelor’s degree in Business IT & Management, but dropped out to pursue a career in software development.
Software development
I started by learning the basics of C# and .NET online directly from Microsoft. Blazor was just released at that time. Building web apps with C# and using the immensely popular HTML and CSS markup languages interested me.
During the vocational education I learned WordPress on the side and decided to start freelancing. I built websites like this one for local businesses. I did that for a while and nearing the end of that I started getting into game development using Unity, C# and Blender. After learning that, I built a multiplayer video game from an idea I had been sitting on for a while.
I’m proud to say the game worked decently well on a technical level. It was basically a clone of my favorite game League of Legends and included real-time multiplayer features and in-app-purchases support with real-world currencies. The project was too ambitious for my skillset at the time. I decided to stop working on the game and decided to focus more on building business-related software and sharing what I learned.
The present
Since 2021 I have been busy with sharing my knowledge by creating educational content on this blog, Udemy and YouTube.
Since 2022 I work for a Dutch software company where I contribute to the development of the Relyon One field service management software.
